Hot tub

Sure, your spa is lux­u­ri­ous and super relax­ing and just feels sooooooo good at the end of a long, hard day. And that’s def­i­nitely a health ben­e­fit in itself.

But there’s a lot more that your hot tub or spa is doing for you… every time you soak. Think of your hot tuba s a healing hot tub.

Here are just a few of the health benefits:

A good night’s sleep. Do you know how sweet and deep your sleep can be after you have a soak in the spa? That may be because of the increase and drop in your body tem­per­a­ture. The rec­om­mended tim­ing is to jump in your spa about 90 min­utes before bedtime.

Lower blood pres­sure. You might think that soak­ing in hot water would raise blood pres­sure, but it actu­ally can have the oppo­site effect as it causes the blood ves­sels to open up. (But do check with your doc­tor before jump­ing in the spa.)

Chronic pain relief. Peo­ple with fibromyal­gia or other sim­i­lar con­di­tions do find relief from soak­ing, along with light stretches in the water.

Joint pain relief. Soak­ing in a spa is called “hydrother­apy” and accord­ing to the Arthri­tis Foun­da­tion can pro­vide relief for all kinds of joint pain, includ­ing arthri­tis and rheuma­toid arthritis.
