Hot tub

Sure, your spa is luxurious and super relaxing and just feels sooooooo good at the end of a long, hard day. And that’s definitely a health benefit in itself.

But there’s a lot more that your hot tub or spa is doing for you… every time you soak. Think of your hot tuba s a healing hot tub.

Here are just a few of the health benefits:

A good night’s sleep. Do you know how sweet and deep your sleep can be after you have a soak in the spa? That may be because of the increase and drop in your body temperature. The recommended timing is to jump in your spa about 90 minutes before bedtime.

Lower blood pressure. You might think that soaking in hot water would raise blood pressure, but it actually can have the opposite effect as it causes the blood vessels to open up. (But do check with your doctor before jumping in the spa.)

Chronic pain relief. People with fibromyalgia or other similar conditions do find relief from soaking, along with light stretches in the water.

Joint pain relief. Soaking in a spa is called “hydrotherapy” and according to the Arthritis Foundation can provide relief for all kinds of joint pain, including arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Next time you soak, know that you are doing your mind, body and spirit so much good.
